Exclusive Designer Labels For Men's Spring Fashion 2010

At first glance, the men's fashion show of Gucci would make you feel like you'd walked into a white party by mistake. For spring 2010, Frida Giannini used few colors, or, in another light, made extensive use of a monochromatic palette to great effect. White is a particularly difficult fashion choice for many men, but Giannini and her spring collection make all white outfits approachable, friendly and even fun to wear for the typical guy.
Monochromatic Men
Giannini had two approaches to the proposition of an all white outfit. One one hand, she used a bold shirt and contrasting tie think strong reds and blues, or a black necktie even. On the other, she turned up the hardware, as was the case with field jackets and coats and their noticeably dark metals. Either way, the result was young, fresh and far from the boring, avant garde kind of look one typically expects from the all-white outfit.
She made a gradual transition from white to black via gray and navy, all the while using a similar strategy to the one she used for white. Do you have relatively fair skin? Instead of using a white necktie for contrast, you could also choose your own skin tone in a vneck top for a more organic and laid back counterpoint. And just to keep things interesting, you could add textures and black on black prints to your outfit for good measure.
Yet the collection's lack of color shouldn't discourage you from working with a very wide palette during spring (when doing so is more acceptable). On the contrary, Gucci for the next season points in the direction of big, bold colors that are anything but shy. With a backdrop as stark as an all-white or all-black outfit as your base, you won't need much more color than the one you'd find on, say, a bold necktie or the trim of a white bag.
The Pieces to Get
If you've ever been curious about all-white outfits, then next season is the right time to make that leap of faith and fashion. Men's fashion pundits reacted very well to the way Gucci approached the style conundrum of all white, which likely means that you'll see a lot more of the color in the following seasons. Besides, Giannini already showed you one great way to do it; what more could you ask for?
At this point, you (hopefully) already have at least a solid slim black necktie in the closet. Pick up an all white two piece suit with sharp tailoring, natch, and a geometric print shirt; swap in a plaid if you can't find the latter. If you want to go Gucci the whole nine yards, finish off the look with white loafers in either suede or leather, and pick up a white leather bag with some contrast trim.
Gray pieces also look like they'll be the next big thing in men's fashion, they're already quite in vogue for neckties and suiting. Belts, shoes and bags will most probably be the next areas of your closet to be affected, so you may want to start stocking up as early as now. Gray is always good as a classic color, somewhere in between black and white, but it can also act as a contrasting style piece for either all black or all white outfits.
While you're at the boutique, check to see if there are any v neck tops that look good on you. Showing a bit of chest is making that transition from Hollywood to street fashion, and you may as well ride the trend if you've got the body for it. Remember the usual rules of men's fashion, however, and keep in mind that there's such a thing as a v neck that dips too deep, never fashionable in any circumstance.

I.B.R.: Tell us who Jermaine Lawrence Anderson is?
J.A: Jermaine Lawrence Anderson is a common gentleman from the neighborhood. Often times as I travel across Chicago, people notice me and give me so many accolades, but I tell people all the time that I’m just your common gentleman. I knew from a very early age that I wanted to be my own boss. I was the president of my own company (Lutonya I don’t even know if you knew this) since the fourth grade.
I.B.R.: I never thought that you would go into fashion, even though you dress well. So why did you decide to go into fashion?
J.A: Lutonya, I never thought that I would go into fashion either and certainly there are some other things I never even thought, in a billion years, I’d be a part of but as people continued to comment on the way that I dress and the style that I had, I said, Jermaine you need to give back.
Giving back means taking what you have and making it available to others and whether that’s fashion, whether that’s media, at some point we all have to give back to the community.
